- the aristocrat; aka freida. age unknown, very old, immortal. fallen angel, demon of dreams and eater of souls.

- the aristocrat is an ancient and powerful creature, able to inhabit both the mortal world and a spooky dreamscape world. her purpose seems to be hedonism, feeding a lust for power, blood, and torment, as well as shiny things.

- the doctor aims to blend in more than the aristocrat, who is rather dragon-like in her love of riches.

- she enjoys throwing parties that go on for days at a time, vile displays of lust and gluttony and greed.

- she is a friend of some fae especially, well known themselves for being rather nasty.

- mother to columbine ('the gardener'), whose other half is fae.

- appear differently in the dream world, their true forms. the aristocrat is the tallest at 7'4". they are unnaturally thin, stretched out, with long limbs, white skin, no facial features except wide mouths with large pointed teeth and black ink leaking out of holes where their eyes should be

- the aristocrat has a slit throat in this world. the wound is deep but clean and leaks tarry black liquid. in the other she has a long thin white scar there.

- met the doctor in the 1900s. freida senses a similar being corrupting the area and manages to get herself invited to a game of fucking croquet or some shit at suzanna's 'brother's' (they can be in any space and have people believe they're supposed to be there, even peoples' homes. suzanna chose a wealthy man to be her faux sibling) place, can see blackness leaking out of suzanna, every time she speaks black ink pours out. they form a close bond, w the aristocrat mentoring suzanna in controlling herself and her energy usage. suzanna was killing off too many, leaking the dark energy she feeds off of, and possibly drawing attention from other creatures who can see the black ooze

the dreamscape

the dreamscape is a place the trio can inhabit whenever they please, and it is where they can hide from possible threats, trap souls, and take a break from the mortal world. really they do what they want.

it consists of a small town with two roads leading to it, one from the world's greenhouse and one from the main house. it holds a tea house where the doctor and the aristocrat spend a great deal of time, a bar, a large theatre, two apartment buildings, a fairly small hospital and adjoining doctors' offices, and a town centre with a fountain featuring a white marble distorted angel figure spouting that same inky black liquid.

the town is populated by faceless wandering shadow people.

the greenhouse is for the gardener, although she is usually in the mortal realm she does visit. it is very large, hot, steamy, and houses an array of plants, some dangerous and some less so. it’s on the edge of the world. two paths lead away from it: the path to the town, and a shorter path lined with cobblestones to the thin black-leaved trees and various dark flora of the garden.

the woods are on one end of the world, and pass into another such world, functioning as a kind of portal, linked to sister woods. the woods house iron and brass creatures, not put there by the trio. they are dark and endless.

there is a lake in the woods, another portal. the water is almost black, deep and dark and terrifying. also possibly endless.

halfway between the main house and the town are tennis courts, half overgrown.

the main house is on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking the black sea, a Victorian painted entirely black. it's where they have certain trapped souls take up residence.

in between the two roads to the town is a field, golden and bright, but with a sinister edge. it’s very easy to get lost in.
