Pawsteps padded quietly through the forest as a young smoky-gray she-cat made her way across ThunderClan territory. Pausing, she pricked her ears. She couldn't hear anyone nearby. Closing her eyes, she stretched her senses back along the path she'd taken, all the way to camp. Not a cat stirred. Opening her eyes, she couldn't help a small grin.
At the border, she stopped again to stretch her senses. No one was here. Except...
The she-cat leaped, landing on top of a large, dark tabby. The tabby mrowed quietly in surprise.
"Dovewing!!” he exclaimed. “Must you always up on me like that. Can't you just walk over like a normal cat for once?”
Dovewing purred and rolled off of him.
“But Tigerheart, that would take all the fun out of it~!” she teased. Tigerheart got to his paws and rubbed his muzzle against hers, purring in return.
“Where you followed?” he asked quietly. Dovewing chuckled.
“Me? Followed? Don't you know me better than that?” she asked in return. Tigerheart couldn't help smiling, realizing that he'd asked a silly question. Dovewing was one of the three, after all.
“So,” said Dovewing, looking up into his eyes. “Where are we going tonight?”
Tigerheart rolled his shoulders, lowering into a playful crouch.
“Let's go outside the borders and practice tree-climbing. I need to get as good and branch hopping as you.” he said. Dovewing purred in amusement.
“That might not be possible, since you're so much heavier than I am~!” she replied, flicking his nose with her tail. Tigerheart smiled.
“You calling me fat?” he asked
“Maybe.” she replied slyly.
With a playful growl, Tigerheart launched himself at her. Dovewing jumped back, laughing, and began to run along their favored path. Tigerheart pelted after her.
If only her life could stay this perfect....
