Kawaii the Bunigiri

Once upon a time there were three Onigiris all in a row. The first Onigiri stood up straight and said "I'm the tallest Onigiri!" The second rolled from side to side and said, "I'm the biggest Onigiri!" The third one thought hard. What did she have to be proud of? She wasn't tall or plump like her sisters, nor did she have anything special to boast about. The little Onigiri felt sad and decided to find something to make her special as well.

She decided to leave her home and travel to the big city; surely there she'd find that special something! Danger lurked around every corner for the Little Onigiri. A hungry bird tried to grab her and a kitten mistook her for a ball and rolled her around on the ground!Yes the journey was long and hard but finally the Little Onigiri made it to the big city. Everything was so big and the people around her dressed so fancy the Little Onigiri was sure she'd find that special something here! She tried talking to the people passing her on the street but nobody paid any attention to a little Onigiri on the side of the street.

The poor Little Onigiri wondered around the city all day. People almost stepped on her, dogs tried to eat her and worst of all she had yet to find something to make her special.

The Little Onigiri wanted to go home but after all she'd been through how could she go back with nothing? She looked up at the sky and made a wish. "Pretty star shinning so bright, hear my wish tonight. Tell me why can't I be special? Is there anything that would make me different?" The star did not answer and the Little Onigiri started to cry. Suddenly the star started to fall from the sky! The Little Onigiri panicked! Oh no, had she wished too hard and knocked down the star?

The Star got closer and closer until it landed just in front of The Little Onigiri. It was such a pretty star, with long blue hair and golden eyes. "I'm sorry I made you fall with my wishing, pretty star. If you want, I'll help you get back to the sky." The star chuckled at the suggestion. "Oh no, little Onigiri. I'm here to answer your question. You did ask me after all. It would be rude not answer."
The Little Onigiri perked up at the thought. "Really! So you're going to give me something to make me special? What is it? Wings like yours so I can fly or golden star dust so I can be the prettiest Onigiri in the world or..."
The Star held up her hand, motioning the Onigiri to stop. "Little Onigiri you already have something special. Something no other Onigiri in the world has. It would be silly of me to give you anything else when you have the most special thing in the whole world!"The Little Onigiri was surprised. "I have something special? What? What do I have that is different?"

The star smiled. "What you have is a brave heart, not many are brave enough to leave everything they know behind and venture into the unknown armed only with their courage. That makes you the most special Onigiri of them all."The Star gave the little Onigiri a ride home back to her family. Once back, the little Onigiri hugged her mom and told her family all about her adventure to the city. That night she slept in her warm bed and dreamed of flying through the night sky and saying hello to all the pretty stars that lived in the heavens above.
