When society had fallen, it was the books that had first been destroyed. Thrown into fires, torn apart, they had taken as many as they could. Still a small group of people had tried to save as many as they could, stashed them in underground basements, hid them in secret and set up their own little libraries for people to read. The very act of reading became a form of protest. She had set up an underground library in her own home, a means of protest in an apocalyptic society where reading and the hoarding of books was seen as as tantamount to treason. Her collection was small, many of her books were found books, books that would of been otherwise destroyed if she had not found them first.
