“Oh?†inquired a male voice in a low tone; curious eyes peered over the top of his clipboard at him as he awaited his reason for bringing it up.
The blonde shifted uncomfortably and directed an uncertain gaze across the room, unsure of where to really go from there. It had been nearly two years since he’d come to his therapist with news more exciting than to tell him he’d taken a different route home that day; he hadn’t thought about what to say about his new lady friend.

It's a known fact that I don' make friends easily... people scare the willies outta me, and gods did she for a long time after I met her, but this girl's kindness, patience, and compassion won me over pretty fast. People... they usually meet me and give up pretty quick, but Taawmmy's got the gold in puttin' up with my shit (and I know, there's a lot of it), and it means a lot that she didn't tuck tail and run the other way at the first sign of trouble; she's become the most important person in my life, practically overnight. The "how"'s not really as important as the "why", I guess- when you spend a lot a time with someone you get to know em' pretty fast, and we ain't been separated more than a few days since we met (well... with the exception of one period of eleven days, but that's another story), but see...
