What is this? A young girl is mightily standing before me. She appears to zealously be in awe, but why? The girl confabulates to an older woman. This older dame is my 'owners' mum. My owner no longer plays with me so I comfortably esconce around, imperturbably waiting for the inevitable end of a toy who is no longer played with. The dust bin. My plush form is grasped by the small hands of this petite little maiden fair as day is long and I am rushed down a flight of stairs.
This young girl intends to play with me! We play on desk tops, who knows what we are playing but I feel so alive again. I can't understand exactly what the girl and the woman are saying, but it was something along the lines of;
"You can keep her if you want, Becky no longer plays with her."
"Can I really? Really?! Thanks a lot Auntie Gillian! What is her name?"
"There is a tag I imagine somewhere, it declares her name on that"
The girl found my tag and opened it. My tag reads as,
"Amber the golden tabby cat;
Sleeping all day and up all night
Waiting to pounce and give you a fright
She means no harm, just playing a game
She's very lovable and quite tame!"
"A large smile grew over the face of the young girl" Somehow, I deeply feel like I just made the best friend I could ever make.

Amber is a TY beanie baby I got off of my auntie when I was very young, maybe 7or 8. She was my best friend and I loved this cat teddy to bits. One time I found out Amber was based off of a real life kitty and had a brother, Silver. I spent many many years looking for Silver, you see I collected beanie babies, especially cats. One year we moved house and Amber was left behind. I could never forgive my mum for that. Although I now have an Amber replacement, and indeed Silver, a part of my childhood feels missing since the original Amber went missing. I cried many nights looking for Amber but to no avail. I still miss the original Amber a heck of a lot. The original Amber had a kink in its tail and the original Amber helped me get over my fear of loud noises or more specifically, firework bangs. It is really rather silly, but I do hope the original Amber ended up in good hands.
