Did you know that symmetrical faces are how we find beautiful mates?
That the perception of color is merely the reflection of light wavelengths?
That infra-red is just one of many colors not perceived by the human eye?
The composition "Rule of Thirds" is based upon the Golden Ratio?
That the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci sequence are found all around our world today?

Seashells. The Parthenon. Pine Cones. Sunflowers. Da Vinci's work. Roses. The human body. The human face. Even the staircase leading to my loft, my study.

Does the average person ever even realize how often art, science, and math entwine?
We like to put them in these....these boxes. Boxes that can't contain them because they're supposed to overlap, to wash on each other and take a little knowledge, leave a little insight.

The facets of gems refracting light. The dust composing a butterfly's wings. Marks of the predator and disguise of the prey. The lights of aurora bourealis.

I don't think I could paint if I didn't crave an understanding of the world.
It's insatiable. The deeper I crawl into canvas the more I see things that other people don't. It's like opening your eyes for the first time to a brand new world.
Every time I paint I see the world for the first time.
I don't know how others can live so blissfully in ignorance. Without knowledge, without understanding, without creativity and passion.

The genetic shifts that give us different eye and hair colors, different hues of flowers. The music of a harp and its perfectly placed strings. The beauty of a sunset.

I don't know how others can live without knowing.
