Flying through space was never easy. Especially when you barely had enough fuel to get to your next destination and on top of that, very little money to get fuel once you arrived--if you managed to. Captain of the large ship was Bani Braun, leader of a small group of bounty hunters. They had winded up in a strange place after a portal had exploded, skyrocketing their transportation ship into a strange new world. One that even after months of being in and adapting to, they still had yet to completely and fully understand. Part of this was the reason they found themselves in this troubling situation. Did I mention that our beloved crew was being trailed by another ship?

"Put the throttle in full! We've got no time to waste!" The second mate barked, rushing to see how their captain was fairing. Other than giving pointless advice and staring at the twitching gas needle with fear, she offered no help.

"Gee, thanks, Calvin Blackmoon," Bani spat in disdain. "Why don't you go be useful somewhere instead of bothering me?!"

The ship lurched forward as their tail rammed into them and Bani felt her lunch churn in her stomach.

"We can't continue on course like this, we'll crash somewhere! And if we get too close to Saturn, we're through!"

Paleona, the second mate, let out a grunt of frustration and whipped around. "Open the damn hatch!"

"WHAT?! You can't be serious!"

"Oh right, I forgot you'd rather crash and die!" She spat in return, dashing down the halls of the ship.

Racing into the bay before the hatch door opened, the peeved woman jumped into her star ship affectionately called the Blue Marlin. She yanked her lanyard off and shoved the key into the ignition, eagerly flipping the switches and observing her gauges. Her ship was technically supposed to be grounded for maintenance and the needle staying close to the E was never promising but she really didn't have a choice. The captain's star ship was entirely out of commission and it was obvious that Bani wasn't going to be able to ward off their assailant by herself. The door in front of her heaved and groaned before finally lowering. Without even moving her ship started to be sucked into the vacuum of space. She put both hands on the revs and moved her wrists before shooting out of the bay.

Paleona's ship seated one but could deal massive damage when it was up to snuff. Featuring two machine guns on either side of an ice ray attached to the front end of the main cockpit it could give you a run for your money. If the beam of ice it could shoot out hit your ship it could send you off trajectory and into the wilds of space. It was a popular ship model and easy to add upgrades to--for instance, Paleona's ice beam addition was not common among ships outside of Titan and other models from other moons may have a different feature. A plasma cannon, for example, was a common addition in other parts of space. The inside cockpit boasted a navigational system and a touchscreen targeting along with a generous cockpit for the intended crew. This particular model had been outfitted with a force field, but that was one of the current mechanics broken. All in all, a formidable foe if in top condition.

In its current condition? Make it work.

Gruffels stood outside the bay area and awaited Paleona's return. The back hatch opened and she heaved a sigh of relief. Though Paleona had kept in radio contact with them, she still worried for her comrade. Not because she was afraid Paleona couldn't fly her starship, but because her ship wasn't meant to be flown. Backing up her concerns further was the rattling and shaking of the ship as it docked and the hatch door closed. Once Gruffels was sure it was safe, she pressed a button and the metallic door slid open, revealing a battered ship and its pilot. Paleona stepped out of her ship, groaning.

"For Shinwa's sake... at least they're gone," she mumbled.

"Yes, but your ship is worse than it was when it left! What's holding it together?!"

"Didn't have duct tape, so I had to improvise. Bani owes me for saving her ass," Paleona muttered, walking out of the bay.

Gruffels whipped back to the ship and inspected it, trying to figure out where Paleona had 'improvised' in the absence of tape. She saw nothing out of the ordinary. Though the ship was strangely cold. Even the hood was cold to the touch. The ship was just on, it should've been warmer. Gruffels raised an eyebrow and opened the hood. She was greeted with a melting stream of ice. Not only that, but she could not see various other patches of ice on the outside of the ship that held two or more pieces together of the ship's armor. She grit her teeth in disgust.
