Introduction

I sat, perched on the high mountain top. The wind around me was filled with the sweet aroma of cherry blossoms. It was time. I let out a strong howl skyward to the sun, a prayer to the bringer of life. The prayer had been answered almost immediately. It signified the beginning of spring, the time where things grow, where I grow. The cherry blossom trees in the village below blossomed so radiantly. I could feel my body strengthening to the fresh scent of new growth, until finally, I too sprouted my blossoms. My energy was vibrant, so full of joy.

It was my sole duty to spread the waves of joy and happiness that overwhelmed me. I was bound to this village for eternity, watching over it, assuring great harvests and growth and to ensure that everyone is kept from darkness.

I leaped from my post on the mountain and dove into the village. A burst of blossoms filled the air and the sweet aroma carried my joy to the inhabitants. Everything was now filled with life and love. Flowers sprouted around the cherry blossom trees, weeds diminished, the trees grew even taller. My job was done. It is spring in this village that reminds me I am where I belong, protecting itâ€¦ promising life.
