Although Esmerelda was not an administrator or instructor at SFI, her influence was undeniable and her fingerprints were all over the affairs of the institution; this included the curriculum, which was now regarded as one of the most rigorous higher education programs in all of Subeta.
Poppy was in her third year of the typically four year program, although some students found success only one or two years through their education. Successful completion of the program was measured in only one or two ways: standard graduation after completing and passing the required courses, or being scouted by Esmerelda and receiving an invitation to create a line for the ever-exclusive Subeautique. This was, perhaps unsurprisingly, the much more coveted option.
