I wasn't always at peace with what I am. A constant worry that I would lose what made me, me, in the vast, roiling ocean that is the wolf. It drowned me for a while, that ocean. I could scream for hours, and no one would hear me. Someone could look me in the eyes and swear I was still me. I spent more time in my pelt than I would care to admit, and made my fair share of mistakes. Sometimes I wonder why Nora ever stayed.

Then I am reminded of my friends--Sally and Aiden. A ghost, and a vampire. They helped shape me from a whimpering man afraid of his own shadow to...well, a slightly more balanced father.
