The night was stormy and the seas rough with cresting waves. Orcanus had long since lost his pod to the tempest that raged above. Tail quivering from fatigue, the Twilight Tutani gave one final thrust - and felt himself slam into solid ground. Ocean water cascaded off his skin, exposing it to the hostile environment his kind was never meant to live. Vocalizing his distress, Orcanus wildly beat the wet sand with his flippers, but any noise he made was drowned by peals of thunder. After bleating his final whistle, the exhausted Tutani went limp as unconsciousness took hold.
Morning broke, and with it came the harsh sun. The ruthless heat startled Orcanus awake, a loud honk erupting from his mouth. Several carnivorous birds had already landed on the drying sand, having sensed that his end was near. Inching closer, the smaller animals cackled cruelly with their wings fully spread, beaks open to begin pecking....
