Orien's owner has made quite a comfortable living by writing a series of children's books featuring the ongoing adventures of his beloved pup. Kids everywhere gleefully await the next installment to find out what trouble their favorite mutt will get up to next. Many people have asked to meet the dog that has inspired so many wonderful tales. Several shows have asked to have him appear on their programs. Sadly, Orien's owner refuses every time.

After all, what would they think if they knew the truth?

Orien isn't a real dog at all, but a robotic companion that captured a lonely man's imagination.
