Girl has a predestined death and loses her soul despite being spared from it. Must travel with a sort of angel to retrieve it.

-Set in 1960s
-Loses family early in life from CO poisoning
-Robs new graves and homes of deceased after falling in with a bad guy, gives him the loot
-She decides to run from him after one more job, but changes her mind after being reminded of her family and leaves loot behind. It's the first example of remorse she shows in a long time- wasn't supposed to happen that way.
-She runs anyway, but the man finds her and things escalate quickly. He tries to shoot her, but the angel, having seen some evidence of repentance, intervenes.
-Her body is spared, but her soul is still "written" as passing on that night and is sent to limbo(?)
-They are allowed to retrieve it, but the angel will have little to no power there. Mica's body will succumb to rot in the mortal world without a soul.
-A fallen angel-type being (Envy) called a "Graceless" tries to impede them. He has no place in Heaven or Hell and wants to possess Mica instead.
