There are no maps to find here, for here, this place. Unnecessary, for there is only one door, that dark mother of pearl gate so kind to shut itself behind. Yet there are many roads. Roads of sienna and gold and green.

This road is ivory, is fog and brittle bone, eras of carrion crushed and brushed pristine. Lined with sIlver capped juniper whose twisted hands point the way. Standing so true and sure, the question becomes, "The way to what?"

But the way is beautiful. It beckons those to come close, come further, you're almost there! But the way is long, our bones weary, and is this the ivory road after all? Because the trees deceive, the roads shift. The wind that urges gently against a back is a firm hand that steers with one place in mind.

No matter ivory or gold or green, the way will turn the same. Scarred birch draped in red. Shards of redwood under foot. Cinders heavy in the air. And up, we see the crows perch. Hundreds, limb by limb.

And at the end of the way, she waits.
