"There is nothing I can do anymore.", he said with a sigh. Looking at his older brother, Taka wiped away the small pearls of sweat from his forehead. "I'm sorry, Ainang."

I knew it would happen but I just had to try to bring you back, my beloved.

And how hard he tried. For almost a week he sat beside her, tried to cure her, tried to draw the illness out of her to absorb it in himself. Just how he did numerous times before. He tried to give her everything she needed to fight back the shadows inside her mind. But deep down in his heart he knew he would lose this war. It was foreseen by him a a few weeks ago and since that moment he knew that day would come. But not so soon.

He still remembers the day she gave up everything. That day he knew almost instinctively that it would happen. It was like he could smell the moment hours before it would finally occur. And when his brother called for him, Taka already knew. And he knew she could not be saved. It was no surprise.

For his brother it was. Even though numerous times before Taka had told him about his visions, he could not find the strength to confront him with this one. How could he if the thought was unbearable to him already?

Gently closing the eyelids of his brothers' wife, Taka whispered a short prayer for her.
