Evening. That peaceful time of day when the sun slowly begins to slip below the horizon, casting its sleepy orange haze over the land. Stars slowly blink into life, while the sky turns a myriad of dark, beautiful colors.
While most creatures are settling into their beds, there is one who is just beginning her task. A lonesome little Lain sits perched on a naked branch, overlooking the landscape and watching the sun continue to disappear from sight. Her feathers mimic the pattern of the evening sky, brilliant hues of red, blue, purple orange, and gold.
With one final glance at the sun, she begins her task - one she takes quite seriously, for she calls the moon into the sky, singing her soft, sweet song. Beckoning it to begin its climb. Her song is melancholy, singing the song of the lonely moon, who wishes more than anything to be with the sun, forever chasing him across the sky.
