Rage and the Siren
Ah Yes, She was a fine vessel indeed! Rage, she was my one true love next to the water I need! Haha! She'd been through everything with me. We pillaged and plundered, all for greed.Aye remember it like it was yesterday, and I'm as sure as me leg be a piece of wood that it be true! We'd found a map for a Vanishing Isle, we planned to leave at two. She had more treasure than a ship full of kings! You know all those booty things. Weeks went by on the ocean, the air sweet as salt. The landlubbers puked, it wasn't really their fault. Though my men would enjoy, betting once or twice on the youngest boy. Soon we began our approach to the Isle. Through my looking glass, I could see land which made me smile.
As we reached the land, we began to hear an enchanting tone. I attempted to set a course to return home. I warned the men not to pursue but you know they didn't listen, would you? Pushed from the wheel and our path was diverted. We came across a mermaid, so perfect it was perverted. She sang us to her, poisoning our minds. I had to do something, but we ran out of time. Had it not been for her, my men might have survived. Alas she claimed their lives.
As we approached her, A smile appeared over her pearly white face. An image I might never erase. She rose her hand and soon tentacles began to wrap around Rage. She'd be dooming us to a watery grave. Rage was sinking into the ocean, taking us as well. The mermaid laughed as she dragged us to hell. As my men began to ready the harpoons, I thought it couldn't be over this soon. As the haul crushed under the force, I saw the creature with whom shifted our course.
Rage put up a good fight and I'd stay by her side, while the creature pulled us down with minimal stride. It rose from the deep to rear it's ugly head, it was the Kraken from the books I'd read. When it arose to the surface it seemed 30 feet high, that's when I shot a harpoon right through it's eye. The creature let out a scream and released Rage living merely by a seam. The mermaid had gone, which is just as well. Had she have stayed I'd have sent her straight to hell.
We don't look for Vanishing Isles much anymore, If you want to know why... Ask the singing sea whore.
