Porcelaine sits in a straight-backed chair, balancing a teacup and saucer on her knee. She gives you a soft look; you can't ignore the wistfulness in her gaze.

"Good afternoon," she says in a voice with no edges. For all her sharp and eerie appearances, she speaks with the cadence of one who has been tired for a very long time. "Would you care to join me?"

Afternoon tea - or coffee, if you prefer - is a quiet affair. Despite the invitation burning in your pocket, you sense that you weren't meant to answer the summons. You say as much, and her lips quirk up in a somber smile.

You lean back in your chair, head spinning. You don't recall eating the cookies on your plate until more appear. Porcelaine hums a tune you've never heard before. You've heard it a thousand times. You hum along, wondering why you can't seem to leave.
