Heimdallr (Old Norse: possibly "the one who illuminates the world"); guardian of the gods in Norse mythology. Residing in Himinbjörg which is located close to Bifröst, the burning rainbow bridge. Heimdallr is described as the son of nine mothers, with golden teeth and very keen senses. He barely sleeps and owns a horse named Gulltop. With his Gjallarhorn he warns the other gods when Ragnarök begins. In the events of the "Götterdämmerung" he and Loki kill each other.
