"Oh how far you have fallen"
The WOLF THAT APPEARS
Name | Rodric I know war. I lived through war when I was a child, and have fought in war since I was able to join up. Death has never been something that was new to me. It wasn't that I was insensitive to it, it just became a part of life. A part that seemed to happen too often. I have lost many friends, and I have killed many people. However, this was different. This wasn't the same war that I knew. When the death ray was introduced for combat use it sounded like something straight out of science fiction. A gun that instantly vaporized people, leaving nothing more then a blackened scorch on the ground. We were told it would revolutionize the war, make it safer for our troops. Less death, they said. But god they didn't tell us the effect it would have on us. The ray worked like a charm, and our enemy soon surrendered, believing us to be devils working with magic. But it was the aftermath that shook me, and many of those in my group. Woman would come to us, looking for the bodies of their husbands and sons, to honor and bury. But there was nothing to give them, not even a pile of ash. They were just gone. As if they never existed in the first place.
