Aether; the twin brother to Lumine, the missing sister whom the Traveler explores Teyvat to find.

Little about their lives before arriving in Teyvat is known, but it is implied something has happened to their home world that makes it difficult - or even impossible - to return. The source of the twin's original powers appear to be connected to stars as both of them arrived in Teyvat as shooting stars. Although they had their powers sealed away after they meet the Unknown God, they are still capable fighters years later.

A mysterious deity stood before the boy, spotless, and floating over a world of chaos. Looking down on him.

The unknown god took Lumine away and Aether was sealed and cast into a deep slumber filled with nightmares...

When he reawakened, the world was changed. The flames of war raged no longer, and nothing was left that looked familiar.

How long had he been asleep? He had no answers.

Thus, the Traveler began a lonely journey, seeking the deity that he had once laid eyes upon...

I will find you... Aether's main motivation is looking for his lost twin. After learning that Lumine joined the Abyss Order, Aether continues his journey to find out why.

A fairy-like being whom the Traveler met not long after getting stranded in the world of Tevyat. She guides Aether around in the world's landscape after he saves her from drowning.

As well as being the best companion ever, Paimon is a bad liar and a big eater. She can't keep a secret to save her life and generally is comically gluttonous, if not downright greedy at her worst. When Mona offered to treat Aether and Paimon to a meal, she quickly became horrified when she realised that the Traveler ordered the entire menu - and that was before Paimon ordered her share!

While good-natured, Paimon is somewhat dim when it comes to everything that isn't food. When faced with new information, she usually expresses confusion and is often lambasted for her inability to keep up (often by Aether himself) with very basic concepts.

Despite this, we learn that Paimon taught the Traveler how to speak Teyvat's language, and Aether compliments her as a good teacher. In addition, the Traveler credits Paimon's knowledge and companionship for teaching him to channel and use multiple elemental energy in combat.
