Have you ever heard the fable about the beautiful fox who got everything he ever wanted?
What do you mean, 'that's not a fable'? Of course it is!
What lesson does that teach, you ask? Well, dear child, it teaches the greatest lesson of all: that this is the real world, and fate has little regard for fairness. The prince doesn't come to sweep the peasant girl off her feet, the wolf rarely falls to the huntsman, and the fool who trades his cow for 'magic beans' has doomed his family to starve.
It's not all bad, though - the story about the fox, I mean. He uses his fame and fortune to help those who can't help themselves, and by doing so he makes many friends of all kinds. I suppose the moral of the story is, "If you're rich and beautiful, everyone will love you."
Now isn't that a great lesson to live by?
