Notes on Claudio

Following on from Raven's story, which is told first: What they do not know, is that the Darktail has since destroyed their old pack. He had been obsessed with humans, and sought their power for himself in order to lead his old pack, which was a very strong one that he had not stood out in. He went to the spirits/gods of the mountains to ask for this power but they would not grant it to him, saying he was unworthy and only after power for himself and not for others They refuse him, and he seeks out one of the black dogs - a beast that brings omens of death, and has a great deal of power. They give him the power he seeks, allowing him to shapeshift into a bipedal werewolf like creature that can weild human weapons. He goes back to his pack, challenges the other wolves to fights, and slowly destroys them all.

He looks for a new pack, the whitebacks, where Henbane and Aster are. When they leave, he grows mad with rage at the lack of control he had over them and eventually destroys their pack too. He seeks out the deserters and sees Raven, this beautiful thing that he wants to possess and destroy both at the same time. He is Claudio, and he tricks her into falling in love with him He kills Henbane and Aster just as Raven trusts him the most, and when he is sure of her love and dependance of him, he leaves her...possibly with the jaws of her parents So she knows it was him.

So now poor Raven is broken and she goes to the spirits for guidance, and they grant her the power that Claudio had wanted. She is worthy, and they need a vessel to kill the possessed wolf But come back from it on the path of...righteousness Because she was raised in such love, they believe she is the one to kill him but not lose herself.

The Black Dog appeared only to those with black hearts. Cold blood runs through his veins, but he harbors a mighty power within, that of which he can bestow upon others with the same lust for evil he feeds upon. A partnership with the Black Dog means losing your soul, but the beast would argue that the souls he takes were barely there to begin with.
