Story
Important facts: Ranik is intelligent and witty, he can very easliy make people laugh and he’s one of the best liars. He was therefore always destined to be a man of power. He used to work at fairs as a fortune-teller and amateur voodoo magician, but he always strove for more. When he got the chance to work for Asfalot, he soon gained trust and got a high ranking position. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for him. He started collecting secret information and selling them to Asfalot’s enemies. When Asfalot found out about this, he immediately had Ranik killed. However, he later came to regret having done that, as he missed Ranik’s cunning solutions and his flattering jokes. So Hadokles had to revive Ranik, who immediately saw the benefit he got from the whole incident: he was immortal! He is now again a very important member of Asfalot’s council, and loyal for the time being (especially as Asfalot has him controlled more carefully now). Even though he doesn’t especially like taking orders, he seems to be settling down at the castle, where there are enough people for him to play his tricks on.
