The peach chai opened her eyes briefly, peeked out at her best friend Mentos, and closed them again. The scribble manticorn still had her tail up in the air, and was frantically digging away at the book pile in the corner with her front paws. Major tip, okay? The chai called out. Your time's up, and I already know you're going in the book pile, so think of something original please? The manticorn made a series of little angry noises with her nose still in the books and the chai laughed. Restarting my count now!
Three... two... ONE HERE I COME! The chai clapped her warm paws together and easily rolled from a seated position to an upright one. She sniffed the air. Their homemade cookies were nearly ready, so she'd have to make this one quick! She padded to the lounge, and then the dining room and kitchen. Hmm... still no sign... only the conservatory was left!
She pushed the door open and caught sight of a blue flower that stood out amongst the roses and orchids of crimson, pink and white. Of course, it was Mento's favourite hair accessory, made of fine spun oriental silk. She grinned. I caught... ya... Her speech faltered and her voice died away as she slumped into a heap on the floor. Now, it was the scribble's turn to grin as she nimbly scooted out of her hiding place and jabbed at her plushy friend, who refused to be disturbed out of her sudden deep slumber. I won! I won! Triumphant, Mentos hurried on her spindly legs in order to wave a fresh honey cream cookie under her friend's nose - she needed to resuscitate her friend for the next game!
