As you're walking down the a sidestreet on the lower East side of Centropolis one evening, you come across a small, odd-looking store set between two larger, more modern buildings.
Upon entering, you're greeted by a lithe black legeica who has a few dark matters floating around his form. He looks up, giving you a quiet smile, and speaks.
"I suppose you think I'm evil, right? Because of the dark matter floating around my body? You probably think I'm going to order them to attack you and suck out your life force or control your mind, or some other such nonsense. Well I'm not, ok? I'm not evil, I don't suck out anyone's life force, in fact I'm vegan and I'm pretty sure 'life force' is not a vegan meal. Yes it's true that I can read minds, but I can't control anyone and I would never read anyone's mind without their permission, unless it's to stop someone from doing something bad. It's also true that I can speak to the spirit world - those who have passed from this world, angelic beings, those one would call demons. But that doesn't mean that I consort with those demons. Usually when I'm speaking to one, I'm trying to get it to change its ways or leave someone alone. Normally though, I just speak to your normal, everyday spirits of loved ones who have passed on who want to give a message to someone they had to leave behind, or I contact those who have passed for someone.
I can also sometimes see things that are going to happen in the future. This is probably my least favorite of my abilities. Most of all because the visions are most times vague and when I finally figure out what's supposed to happen, it's too late to do anything about it. But I try, I really try. The few times when I am able to do something, to tell the right person the right information, to stop something bad from happening, that almost makes all the bad times worth it. I hope certain people understand that I didn't make certain events happen, that I didn't tell them too late on purpose...I really did try, I promise.
There's also the fact that I can read signs. I learned the hard way that stopping dead in my tracks on a busy Centropolis sidewalk, my eyes going wide and my voice exclaiming out loud how the sky is telling me a storm is coming, when the day is bright and clear...well, that doesn't go over too well. Unless the sign that I see is something that's really going to effect people in a bad way, I usually just keep quiet. But even when I do try to let people know that something bad is going to happen, they don't listen. Like when the islanders turned around and attacked the pirates, I tried to tell the pirate captain what was coming, but he didn't listen, and look what happened.
You don't have to be worried about my dark matters floating up to you either. They're just very curious...in fact, they're not really even 'true' matter. They're actually pure energy, spirits that have decided to stay in this world in their non-corporeal forms. Eventually, I get them to move on, but others always seem to take their place, drawn by my psychic aura I suppose.
Anyways, I've talked your ear off enough I suppose. It's just so rare that I get a visitor who actually wants to know more about me instead of just pointing and accusing me of being a devil worshipper or whatever other nonsense they believe. Now, I don't seem to have any appointments going on at the moment, so were you interested in any of my services? A palm reading perhaps? Maybe an aural reading? Or did you want me to try and contact a relative who's passed on? Take your time and let me know whenever you're ready."
