The Preserve Loving Fruit Bat

Hi! My name is Daelyn, it's pronounced day-lin. My name means beautiful day or light of day! I was given my name because I was found near Oaklin's tree house at dawn. I got lost while searching for fruit and was trying to hide beneath the shelter of a tree, when Retro came walking along. She scooped me up, tossed her hoodie over my delicate eyes and carried me to the safety of the tree house. Where I met Retro, Oaklin, and their lovely friends! Not knowing yet that they would be my best friends and loving family.

I told them of my travels to find the best fruits in all of Subeta. How I would collect as much as I could carry and hurry back to my home before daylight. And after a few nights of visiting the same place, I would have enough fruit to make jars upon jars of preserves. But last night I lost my way and simply could not go any further. So I decided to try and wait it out under that tree where Retro found me.

That was when Oaklin told me of his great friend Liezelle that lived down the way that ran a fruit stand in the farmers market. How Liezelle always had the freshest fruit in the lands. How he thought if we talked to her that she would help me collect as much fruit that I needed to make my preserves and guarantee that I would never get lost and stuck ever again.

At dusk, we ventured off to the fruit market in hopes of catching Liezelle. We caught her as she was closing her stand for the night. I was so happy to see all the different types of fruit she had on display. It just made me smile. She greeted Oaklin so sweetly and was so excited to meet me. We talked and talked and I pulled a small jar of my preserves out of my bag for her to sample. She sniffed it over and over. She commented on how lovely it smelled and how it tasted even better. She asked a few questions and smiled as she finally said - Oh yes, I can help!

Now a days ... Liezelle helps me with getting the fruit I need for my preserves. And I not only make them for myself and loved ones, I make them for Liezelle's fruit stand. They are a hit! Everyone loves them!
