It began as any other stuffed toy begins, as fabric, stuffing, and (in this case) a musical mechanism; all stitched together to one day become a child's play thing. It was likely to be tossed around for a week or so before being put up on a shelf untouched until yard sale day after which the cycle would continue until being thrown out in the trash, ruined. However, this would not be the fate of this particular stuffed lamb.The year was 1994 when a wide eyed three year old would come running up to the hook on which she hung. "There you are, Roadkill!" she exclaimed, "Lets go home!"Yes, the sad truth was that the original Roadkill Kitty had been lost, left in the backseat of a car where it was never seen again. The little girl was blissfully unaware of the original doll's fate and she would one day grow up and realize that Roadkill Kitty had not actually gone back to the store to wait for her. However, this began a new start, a clean slate with a new friend. This little lamb would be the new Roadkill Kitty and she would be loved more dearly than all the rest of the little girl's toys.Roadkill, as her name would be shortened to (much to the mother's dismay), was named so because she was a stretch out doll which the little girl insisted was a kitty and not a lamb. When stretched, she played the tune, "Mary Had a Little Lamb" as she shriveled back up. The little girl had no idea what roadkill even was, she only knew that her uncle had called it that and so the name had stuck.Over the years, the two had many great adventures. Roadkill went everywhere with her little girl.
