Doritos and his bff Coke are obsessed with pirates - that's how they came to be Hydrus.
One day, while out playing & looking for plunder in the Omen Islands (like all good pirates do!), they ran into Merana, who blessed them for their courage. There are much older pets who wouldn't dare tempt the Sea Witch, but after her blessing, Doritos returned again the next day. Much to his surprise, Merana gave him yet another gift -- a moldy snippit of paper -- which Doritos still thinks is a treasure map!
