Yes, you may call me Mason. Everyone does anyway. I am a mighty Gargoyle. I am looked up to in my clan because I give life to new gargoyles. I, only, have been given the gift to know how often a new gargoyle may be formed. My twin brother and I were the last gargoyles created by the old Mason. Two gargoyles being born at once was unheard of and our clan went many, many decades before I created my first gargoyle. Since my work began, our clan has slowly started to flourish again. We are strong.

My life is not an easy one though. Some from our clan love me for gifting new life and fixing old ones and some hate me for denying requests that are out of their time. I cannot gift a new gargoyle to a family too early and this is hard for most to understand. This is also why my brother Zync hates me. For you see, zinc is a soft metal and has a tendency to break apart easier than the stone I normally work with. My brother has always been over ambitious and has an adventuresome spirit. This has led him to many downfalls and...injuries, if you will. Now that we are no longer young children, he is beginning to feel the effects of the cracks and crevices growing in his form. A couple decades ago, Zync begged me to fix him. He wanted to be filled with strong stone to heal his wounds. I told him this simply could not be done. The stone would never bind with his metallic surface, and the pieces I would create would only widen the gaps and fall free from his body. This was not what he wanted to hear. He has since hated even the sight of me.

I enjoy greatly the work that I do from day to day, fanning the flames and bringing to life the things that our people need to live a happy life. Yet, I do wish I could get my brother back. We were made as a pair and we should not be separated this way.
