Where was the fun in hiding? In staying put and not feeling the warm sunlight on a beautiful spring day, the wind ruffling her wool, the cool grass under her hooves? It took far more energy than she would ever admit, to leap from her safe place in the skies, from shifting as a watchful guardian to a humble creature of the Earth. Her arrival herald the start of spring, flowers blooming, babies coming into the world, the land awakening to ripen and green with teeming life.
During her visit, she would seamlessly blend in with the herds of domesticated animals, playing with them and encouraging them to hop, jump, and race with her through the meadows and fields. She was free for this day, for it was this day along that the moon and sun shared the sky. The humans seldom noticed her or paid mind and when they did, she had an amazing time teasing and tricking them. She loved letting them get close enough to see her glowing symbols alight in her dark wool before hopping out of their reach with a mocking bleat.
They would never catch her - she disappeared when she pleased, to return to her place among the stars as the day turned to night. Until the next Vernal Equinox rolled around, she would remain in the sky in her rightful place, as Aries.
