Nugget
Legacy Name: Threaten

Nugget scoots into Inés life the summer that she's seven, on what is otherwise a lovely family holiday to the beach. She had been trying to expand a sandcastle that some other kid had previously built, and things had been going well up until the moment where she discovered that the castle was sentient. Luckily for her, Nugget charged up the beach before her hand could actually close around the newly-discovered haunted shovel. Precocious and confident, Nugget fought off the Sandygast, graciously accepted a treat, and then decided to stay forever, despite all attempts by Inés' parents to return him to the sea from whence he came.

Because Nugget was the first Pincurchin that Inés had ever met, she did not know that he was a shiny Pokémon. In fact, she remained blissfully unaware of this fact up until someone tried to steal him from her. The attempted theft went poorly—the thief had not accounted for Nugget's brash bravado and was summarily Throat Chopped. Had Inés not caught up with them right after that to grab him and run, no doubt worse things would have happened to the would-be thief. This incident would go on to be the turning point in cementing Nugget's reputation as a tiny terror that was not to be trifled with.

Uva Academy regulations stipulated that Pincurchins were not allowed to know Throat Chop in their movesets, so despite much grumbling, Nugget was taught Zing Zap as its replacement when Inés was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious school. This change has not made him any less of a menace—old habits died hard, and he would still instinctively aim for the throat, only this time there would be added electricity involved. He carries a Quick Claw into battle to further strike fear into his opponents.

Nowadays, Nugget terrorizes the residents of the third floor at the Uva Academy dorms. He has convinced Inés neighbor in Room 304 that their shared bathroom is haunted, on account of that one time when he was accidentally locked in there. He is, also, the world's premier connoisseur of algae wafers.

Occasionally, he will let himself out of his ball. Inés has attached contest seals spelling out MENACE to it so that she can know exactly when that happens, but in true Nugget fashion, this has not deterred him in the slightest.
