Standing at the altar, he happily waited. Anxious, excited, he fiddled with his tie, swayed on his heels, glanced at the window in hopes of seeing the reflection of the door opening and his beautiful bride coming down the aisle. The music was playing on a loop now. The organist was getting tired, hands aching. Yet the bride still wasn`t coming. She should have been here by now. Where was Carry?

Ushers slipped out of the chapel to go find Carry. When they returned, they regretfully announced that she was gone. The dress was lying torn in the dressing room. The bride had run away, taking the car with her. The bridesmaids had tried to stop her, but were unable to hold her back. "Why should I marry an ugly and despicable man?"

The groom collapsed, weak, pale, shaking. He thought they`d been in love. When he`d asked her to marry him, she had looked so very happy. That was just four months ago. Had he done something wrong since then? Had Carry met another man, one who made her even happier? Nevertheless, she had ripped out his heart and taken it with her. She`d left without a word, leaving him alone at the altar.

A day later, the groom was found dead in the streets. He had jumped from his own apartment building, meeting his end on the cold concrete below. When Carry had taken his heart, his life was over. He couldn`t even stand to look at his own reflection in the mirror and seeing the sorrow that had replaced the previous passion and happiness in his expression.

However, that wasn`t the end. The groom wanted his vengeance. He returned, appearing, dark and bloody, behind Carry as she looked in the mirror. She screamed, cried, recognized him. She sobbed, jumbled apologies streaming through her lips amidst the sobs. She made excuses as to why she had left, saying she was scared, saying she wasn`t ready. But weren`t those a man`s shoes by her bed?

"You made me this way, Carry." His hands went to her neck. "All I did was love you." He leaned close, listening to her choking sobs. He spoke in a sweet voice, close at her ear. "I`ll love you forever. Goodbye, dearest you."
