Do You Like Apples?

Flutterbat is a fruit bat, and she especially likes sweet apples. Her favourite orchards grow Fuji apples.

She knows she should ask before taking but sometimes they just smell so good that she is sure the farmers wouldn't mind her taking just one...? Maybe two? Okay, so there was a third that one time, but it was about to go rotten, so she was doing them a favour.

Once, Flutterbat had been away visiting her family who roosted on farm near Veta. It was a long way away and she was very tired after the journey home. She happened to notice that her local farmer was growing a new type of apple! They were red and juicy looking (and looked a lot like a Royal Gala) so Flutterbat thought it would be fun to just try one... just to make sure they were safe for everyone else to eat, of course. The apples turned out to be Honey Crisp variety, which were in no way as sweet as she was expecting - that was a nasty shock for Flutterbat, although her reaction did give the orchard farmer a good laugh.

Sometimes when she is sleeping, Flutterbat has dreams of another life, where she is a giant, and likes to eat grass, and she sleeps inside a tree with a grumpy white rabbit. They are just dreams, but they feel so real. It's like part of her is missing. She doesn't like to talk about it.

Although her story has a Subeta spin, Flutterbat is heavily inspired by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which was created by Lauren Faust and owned by Hasbro. No copyright infringement is intended!
