"ALLLL ABOOOOAARRD!" I yelled, feeling the usual rush of adrenaline pumping through my veins. The crowd came rushing in as soon as the barricades were opened. There was wide rope bridge between the air station and my ship. Some people crossed over warily, stopping to test the bridge with the weight of one foot before stepping on it. Some just hustled, having done this countless times before.

I laughed and knelt down as a few kids came running towards me.

"Captaaaain!" they yelled in unison, one clinging to my arm and two others jumping onto my back."Where are we going?" they wanted to know. I shrugged, setting them down and standing up.

Truth be told, I didn't know. I looked around my airship - Valeria. I basked in her reflected glory. Her majestic gas balloon looming above us, casting a huge shadow, had a wooden carving of my sigil at the front- a growling wild cat. The balloon was connected to the wide wooden deck of the ship by thick metal wires. Four majestic propellers powered her from the sides, two smaller ones from the rear.

Once the crowd was on board, the anchor was cut loose and she was, once again, floating in mid air, rising like an enormous beast among the clouds. I looked around at the exhilarated faces of the children, their mothers trying to grab hold of them as the ship drifted through the vast, dark grey sky. My cabin was on an elevated plane at the center of the deck. Inside was the control system and a large titanium steering wheel. I ran my thumb over the cold metal spokes. She was the only thing that kept me alive, my one true love. All my life, she has steered me.

I tugged at the chain hanging above my head and sounded the horn.

"We're going where she takes us."
