Syntax is always working on something. Fixing something, improving something, or taking something apart just to figure out exactly how it works.

He has spent years collecting knowledge, and at this point, his workshop holds almost as much information as it does machinery. Books, manuals, schematics, notes, and half-finished blueprints are everywhere.

Some of them are useful. Some probably aren't. Syntax doesn't seem particularly concerned with the difference. If there's something new to learn, he wants to know it.

He approaches most problems the same way. Figure out how all the pieces fit together, find the part that isn't working, and keep at it until it does.

Unfortunately, this process isn't always quiet.

His workshop is usually a mess of tools, spare parts, unfinished projects, and ideas that somehow became much more complicated than they were supposed to be.

There's almost always something being repaired, redesigned, or "temporarily" taken apart.

And then there's Punky.

Punky is a Steamworker who has become a permanent fixture in the workshop. He's part assistant, part companion, and occasionally the unfortunate witness to one of Syntax's experiments going slightly differently than planned.

What Punky's actual job is remains unclear.

Syntax claims he has one.

Punky has yet to confirm this.
