What happens if you get stuck between two portals? Supposedly, your existance should be erased. Your body parts and organs would overlap with each other, pressing your matter against itself with such a force, that you'd be immediatelly crushed. Except... that Omen didn't. Well, Omen wasn't it's real name before. It used to be something... someone. But it decided to rename itself after the otherworldly experience it went through. It found a glitch in the fabric of reality, and survived.

Omen used to be mechatronic scientist. However, one day, an accident happened. The two portals moved too quickly for him to get out of the way. He was caught and expected to die, but instead, he found himself in a dimension of fractals. Something that was so beyond any mortal conception, that he couldn't do anything but stare, terrified. Whatever that was, Omen shouldn't have survived. But he did. He was there, in this strange place where matter didn't exist (or existed, overlapping itself and coming out again and again, changing, but simultaneously the same, in an eternal loop). A place that was, but shouldn't be. Omen's appearance and mind were altered. It's DNA and it's whole existance were altered. Now, Omen can travel through dimensions between portals and black holes. It's hunger for knowledge never ceases, and it gets knowledge by consuming.
