This has been inspired by rpg classics like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. If you were born in the 90's you probably missed those, but Baldur's Gate practically resurrected the entire genre and brought it into the computer era. If you have an old copy of it I can happily inform you that it runs fine on Windows 7.
Of course, being the nerd that I am, that was the first thing I tried. I'm not into WoW much, because I played WarCraft 2 a lot in the 90's. Boring music and drones going "Yes, my Lord" or "Even elder races get tired of waiting". Mention WoW and those things come back to me. Especially that blasted music.
I prefer having a plot, honestly, even if straying from it temporarily with a million mini-quests is what made Baldur's Gate unique.
The profile was made by me (
Gray). It took me ages to code this and if you steal it I will eat you alive. The "creatures" and other art I've incorporated into the background graphic mostly dates to the 2011 excavation plot we had here on Subeta. Those pieces of art belong to Agoge Inc. and was drawn by its amazing artists, not by me.
