Jack B. Smith

The Blackjack ✡ Limbo

"Hello. I an here to announce that you have been under the watch of Tartar Health Vigilance Inc., and by our relatories we are afraid that your shop will be closed in a few hours. Please take time to read your protocol and redeem the payment insurance from our company in the Limbo.

Yes, I do have a credential. It's here. You can call me Jack for short.

Hope you have a good day."

I used to think that humans were empty, vain. It was comic watch them fight over the stupidiest of things, like money or resources. Spending all of their lives searching for a reason to be alive, yet concluding nothing. Right... How would they knew?

We, Nephilim, created them. In the beginning, there was only a seed. Only a pair, and then, it started to expand. Humanity started to grow by itself, just like all kinds of bacteria. Reproducing, adapting, evolving. A truly intringuing sight, if you may ask.

This, of course, was monitorated by the Tartar Inc. At some point, they started to send many of us to Earth just to pick up the earnings of our project. Didn't you know? Nephilims are infertile. Either we see one after other die in a relatively long period of time, comparing to the one used by the humans, or try to create a new generation of the species... A hibrid. You see, humans have only the primal structure of our DNA. Since the start, we knew there would be millions that would not develop enough similarly to ours. As a result, newborns Nephilims were just a fantasy.

The newborns were weaker, aged way faster than us and of course, didn't had any wings. The Tartar acknowledge them as Eliouds. Inferior than us, yet neither humans or Nephilims. Children that shouldn't exist in the program Earth.

So, they were one by one exterminated by the Nephilims. It was like taking out the trash... And it made me sick. So much that it didn't surprised me when the company decided that the program was a total flaw and they would reset it.

Because that would not exterminate only all the Eliouds the program couldn't identify, but also the humans that didn't reproduce our DNA correctly. That fought over everything, that were so... Imperfect.

It isn't like I didn't agree with them before... But now, I know that is not the right thing to do. Why? Well, would you see an entire race be exterminated for such egoistic reason? We were just a few hundreds, they were billions. Was it worth it? Was humanity just a thing to be erased? To answer this question, I went to Earth. Over years, I lived like one of them, hiding my true identity to find some proof. Something... Anything would do.

And I found it. Now, I am more than sure that they were far than a failed experiment... They are worth a chance. And that is why I will fight for them... Even it is against all the brothers I lived with in eras. Humanity taught things that my species never ever dreamed of feeling. Happiness, hope... Love. To us, perfect beings, things like that did not exist.

So now I ask you, my son, who do you think is more primitive?
