A black cat who once belonged to a witch. One day, the witch flees their home, afraid of being condemned. Sakuya was abandoned and had to fend for himself until he meets Demir. Unfortunately, Demir wasn't allowed to keep pets, but Sakuya became attached and tried to follow him back home one day. The reason Demir didn't take him in was because black cats were considered bad luck and Sakuya would end up getting hurt. The children in his town chased him back into the forest. One day, while Demir was away, the children went looking for Sakuya and attacked him again, causing Sakuya to suffer during his last moments.

His old owner, the witch, returns at the moment to grant him a wish as an apology for leaving him behind. However, she warns that what she grants might not... fulfill his true desires. Not wanting to leave Demir behind, Sakuya becomes a ghost. At the same time, he wants to express how much he really feels for the boy, granting him the power of shapeshifting and the ability to talk. Unfortunately, the one that he wants to speak to most can't hear or see him as anything else other than a cat. But he decides that he's content with being Demir's guardian.
