TLDR - A war raged on between two sects. Many were lost without homes, forgotten, and left to fend for themselves. Found in the streets and taken to the childrens home around the age of 4, MR-13 was 'adopted' by scientists who developed the Neutrals. A group of genetically enhanced super-humans with mechanical features with a main purpose of protecting the areas borders. The scientist working on her fell in love with her looks and illegally hid her away. She adapted to this new found attention by calling him father.

A young blonde girl was found abandoned by her parents on the streets of a [Light] sect. She was taken in by the Children Come First orphanage where instead of a name she was referred to by rude names or the generic 'girl'. During her miserable time there she kept up a happy demeanor by painting with old paints she scavenged from garbage piles, teaching herself to read with thrown out books, or just studying the interactions of the people around her. She was an annoyance to her caretakers by readily asking questions about their behavior towards her and always pushing for more knowledge. When she was of a seemingly adult age, she and the rest of the orphanage group were taken by scientists and tested upon. It was there that the head scientist of the group, Claude Zeli, fell in love with her.

Claude Zeli had helped develop 'Program Mechanical Reformation - Section: Neutrals' which was supposed to help strengthen the numbers guarding the [Light] borders with highly specialized beings. The [Neutrals] were genetically modified humans with mechanical features. Their skeletons were reinforced with hard plating and covered in a durable skin-like base. [Neutrals] brains were enhanced with larger memory storage and the ability to recall information much quicker than the average human. Although, after a few failed versions, later batches received brain implants that reduced their ability to form emotional memories and lowered their thought capacity. Giving them the processing capability of that of a computer. They would receive direct orders and only have the intent to follow them.

With her newly formatted body, she was finally given a name: Mechanical Reformation - #13 or MR-13 for short.

When MR-13 was first brought in, she was conscious enough to ask intelligent questions that bordered his own. Zeli was so infatuated with MR-13 that he ended up hiding her while the army took the rest of the [Neutral]s to the borders. Since she was part of the first initial batches MR-13 kept all of her memories and thoughts, which allowed Zeli to teach her everything he knew. She was overjoyed with this new knowledge and took to Zeli as if he was her own father. He, never having kids of his own, loved her as if she was his daughter referring to her as Marie.

For years they were happy. Zeli giving her the knowledge she craved, and she gave him the companionship he had always longed for. As he grew older Zeli lost the laboratory after multiple arguments with the director about ethics, pushed their vote towards younger more naive scientists. His work with human beings had taken a toll as resentment and anger grew within him. MR-13 never aged, never tired, didn't eat, and rarely left the house so as not to be discovered. He had taken away her life on this world as a normal human and forced her to be a machine, with the rest of her kind being forced to forever do the bidding of others. Although most of her batch had been mass murdered after a revolution had tried to take place. It had been then that the extra brain implants were put in to limit their capability of contending with their human superiors. It was then that they lost the last humanistic instinct and were instead reformatted machines. It was this that had caused Zeli to lose his lab as well, for he couldn't handle turning these young adults into monsters any longer.

MR-13 found Claude Zeli laying face down in a puddle of his own blood. A pistol lay near his waist. All she could do was send for the ambulance and watch in the deepest corners of the shadows as they took away the only person who had ever truly loved her.
