And that isn't a euphemism, the two halves of this lizard literally text one another. They could talk, but they say this is more fun and they have unlimited texting so why not? Snowseed buries himself in blogs, videos, music, fanfiction, video games, spending his days asleep and his nights with the glow of a screen on his faces. He doesn't like full sunlight, preferring the lights of the city at night. He loves the city. Not terribly good at getting close to people in depth, he surrounds himself with acquaintances instead. Any nocturnal body like him, or even just a sea of dancing bodies, the crowd, anybody who doesn't rub him wrong can be his friend for the night. Platonically speaking, of course. Snowseed is an asexual lizard, but does find romance ever so cute.
At home, in his nest of blankets, cushions, and silk flowers in a small apartment decorated in brightly colored posters of space and science fiction, among plastic baubles and toy dinosaurs, you can find him eating tempura vegetables and sugar cookies with the sprinkles and the frosting. Bowls of hard candy hide in nooks behind doors and scattered throughout the room. A blacklight heat lamp shines over his bed for this lizard to bask in, because a lizard needs to bask. It is silent except for the tinny pieces of noise escaping from his headphones and his occasional giggle, or anguished squawk, given context only from the screens in front of his faces. Sometimes there's a friend or two in the room, lounging in the obstacle course of pillows, and they show each other videos and amusing pictures, share ear buds to spread the joy of a particular music track, and take turns making food and fetching more soda. Cream soda is Snowseed's fave, though he stocks other kinds for company and for variety.
Several days out of the week he works night shift janitor duty at the pawn shop. He works with headphones on and drinks hot coffee from a thermos to keep warm in the chilly venue. After his shift, he takes the train back home and rewards himself with another bag of hard candies. Peppermints, sour candies, fruit flavors, butterscotch, all of it. Each head usually has a different flavor. Another favorite is gummy candies, though they get stuck in his teeth and he regrets them afterwards. He used to reward himself with more coffee, but these days he's weening himself off of caffeine. Not altogether, just not as much as he used to enjoy. This sometimes leads to headaches, particularly when he's stressed, and if he's not at work he'll sleep them off after a pill or two to dull the ache.
