Link to history HEREKamito is a fish spirit that longs to be able to fly.He lives near takokichi(kite crazy) village, and they have a huge annual kite festival on May 5th.Kamito watches the festival from his pond every year, making his longing to fly stronger with every passing year. One day a traveler passes by and stops at Kamito's pond after leaving from the festival. With his bright kite held high, Kamito watched it in awe and spoke to the man. The man told him where he'd gotten it and the two spoke about the festival.The traveler gave his kite to Kamito and left with a friendly goodbye. With this kite he was finally able to fly. Now, every year on May 5th, Kamito visits the festival and soars through the sky for everyone to watch and enjoy.
