Ikari lived a carefree life with his family. As he got older, he had a habit of wandering off on his own, it was endearing and expected that a cheetah would eventually take his own path, so his family never stopped him. One day, a massive fire raged through the forest, surrounding him before he could escape. Separated from his family and taken from this world, Ikari became a lost spirit caught between life and death.

He wandered the forest without purpose for who knows how long, time didn’t feel the same anymore to him. After more than a dozen full moons, he encountered dark shadowy creatures warning him of danger deeper in the forest and unexpected challenges that blocked his way. Often his confidence would begin to wane. Why was he wandering? Was there a purpose to his aimless trudging?

Days turned into nights, and Ikari's will to keep moving forward began to dwindle. Just as he was about to give up, he remembered something someone said to him before the fire, maybe his mother?

"Whenever you're lost, look to the stars for guidance."

Ikari searched the night sky, and there, shining bright, was a constellation that reminded him of a cheetah. He decided to follow its direction. As he walked, the forest began to take on a new form. He encountered even more strange and beautiful creatures, some of which even offered to help him find his way. They were covered in moss and flowers, some had vines draped down their bodies. Despite their guidance, Ikari remained focused on the stars, and eventually, he stumbled upon a clearing. There, to his surprise, was an orange wolf. She grinned when he approached, as if she had been waiting for him all this time.
“Ikari, you’ve made it.” Her voice was smooth and gentle.
Ambivalence kept him in place, who was this wolf and why did she know his name?
“I promise you will be safe here in the glade.”
“What’s so special about this place?” Ikari hardly masked his skepticism.
“It’s a place where spirits gather, ones who are lost or ones that were betrayed in life.”
Ikari patted the ground with his paws, as if deep in thought.
“I am… lost?” His voice was quiet.
“I’m afraid so, little guy.”
His golden eyes gazed over the open plain before looking back at the orange wolf.
“Does that mean you’re also lost?” He asked.
She nodded.
Ikari shifted uncomfortably. “I’m… sorry.”
She laughed, warmly. “No need, Ikari.”
“If we are here lost together… what should I call you?” He inquired.
“You may call me whatever you’d like, Ikari. Sister, Flower, friend. Whatever helps make you feel more comfortable here.”
Ikari struggled to keep his tears in check. “I would enjoy having some family again.”
Flower stood and happily ran in a quick circle. “Shall we race, then?”
Ikari stood on all fours, alert at the mention of a race.
“Where too?”
“Home, of course.” She took off, a gust of wind blowing in Ikari’s face.
“Hey, no fair!”
He ran after her, bounding happily towards his new home.
