The sun burns brightest just before sinking beneath the horizon. So too do our dreams scream loudest in the face of a breaking dawn. Evening after evening, I ensure the passage of dark across the sky, and the safety of those who dream beneath it.

Many have come before me, and many will come after. It is an unending task, but far from thankless. The dreaming world rewards me with strength of heart and mind, sustaining me until another will take over. Until the night I may join my forebears, and rest my bones in endless sleep.
