Based off of a Betta named Tully. Tully was a veil tail betta that we had cared for since June 2013.
He came to live with us (my husband and I) a day after our nephew Gavin was born. Being our first living child from the universe (our first non-living child from the universe is a stuffed toy rabbit named Dutch) we were very excited and took great care of our newest family member.

When we first got him he had a curled ventral fin, where he had spent his whole life in a little cup. We slowly moved him into larger spaces (so that he could get used to them) until he had his very own five gallon tank! He had a little heater, a slight current, lots of leafy plants to rest on, a glowy rock cave, and a little log house of his own. He absolutely LOVED his little house, and if we couldn't see him swimming about we knew that was where he was.

Tully left us 12/22/2015. He had gotten sick and his swim bladder was affected. He was given medicines, and he battled for two months, but eventually he took his long rest. We gave him the best service we knew how, and I am sure that he had a happy life with us.
