Ishia has a minion!

For Ishia, life was good and peaceful.

The angel priggle ran a luxurious spa and resort deep within the forest. Guests could soak in relaxing spa tubs that were only outmatched by the bathhouse in Shengui Guo and participate in various activities like crochet and archery. At a certain point of the year guests might even be fortunate to spot fairies fluttering around the local fauna.

However, there came a day where the peaceful atmosphere of the resort would be wracked to the core.

It all started when three phug minions wandered into the resort. And I literally mean wander; the phugs had gotten lost in the forest for a couple of days. Ishia smiled at the new arrivals and asked if she could help them.

“Excuse me, is this a resort?” a queen phug asked.

“Yes, it is,” Ishia answered with a smile, “and this resort is dedicated to providing peace and comfort to all its guests.”

“Oh goody! A resort!” said a Little Red Riding Phug. “I knew something good might happen if we went on the less traveled road.”

The last phug, a unicornphug, sneezed and magical sparks came out from from her horn. “After what we’ve been through, a resort would be a most welcome blessing.”

Ishia gladly checked in the three phugs and called for an employee to show them to their rooms.

The next day, Ishia was shocked to find many more phugs crowded together in the lobby! The front desk attendant, a glade illumis, shrugged and gave her a bewildered look.

A superphug spoke up. “Excuse me, is this the resort where the fairies gather?” He pointed to a fairyphug standing behind him and continued, “my cousin came here with some friends a couple of years ago and suggested that this would be a good place for the Blazing Phugs Festival attendees to stay at.”

Ishia was completely taken aback. “Pardon? Blazing Phugs Festival?”

“Yep.” answered the fairyphug. “We were supposed to be staying at another resort, but it turns out the festival organizers completely screwed up the lodging arrangements! We expected luxury suites, but all we got were small tents in the outdoors!”

“That’s not the only thing they screwed up!” yelled a Pop Star Phug from the back of the crowd. “They also lied about the food! Hot dogs and nachos are not the gourmet food I was expecting!”

Other phugs began to shout in agreement. Ishia and the front desk attendant were still flustered but began the check-in process for all the phugs crowded in the lobby. Deep in the back of her mind, however, Ishia had a feeling that trouble was not far away.

The next couple of days were a cacophony of activity at the resort. After getting checked in, several of the phugs congregated in the coffee shop to discuss their plans going forward concerning the Festival. The Blazing Phugs Festival was slated to have multiple music performances, and no phug wanted to miss their favorite band. The problem that the phugs faced was the fact that the resort was quite a distance from the beach where the performances were scheduled to occur. And it didn’t help matters that many of the phugs hadn’t even heard of the resort in the first place and were consequentially unfamiliar with the area surrounding their lodgings.

The festival also included a costume competition. The phugs that wished to participate decided that they would simply hold the competition at the resort since they already were there…and because they didn’t trust the ill-prepared organizers. With that decision made, a group of merphugs, triceraphugs, octophugs, and ghostphugs began the search for the perfect spot for the contest.

As for Ishia, she quickly learned how rambunctious some of the phugs could get. Windows and valuable items ended up broken due to Superphugs and Hockeyphugs putting too much strength into a crochet swing. The angel priggle’s ears sometimes got assaulted by the loud music emanating from a Pop-Star Phug practicing a musical performance for the Festival. The possessed phugs were the worst of all. One moment these phugs would be perfectly normal, then suddenly they’d go into a frenzy that usually ended with massive spills or heavily damaged property. Ishia often wondered if her resort would be able to survive the chaos.

“Cancelled?! All of them?!” shouted a piechart phug in disbelief.

“Clear as a blue sky,” answered a pilot phug grimly, “ and one music artist didn’t even sign up for the festival in the first place! Looks like you’ll have to ditch those complex charts about arriving to the beach on time for the performances.”

“Figures,” grumbled a piphug, “I’ve already lost my special edition Pirates of the Omen Islands laptop due to the incompetence of these organizers.”

Still in disbelief, the piechart phug shook his head. “Well, it looks the only event I’ll be attending will be the Mazes and Mahars convention,” he stated miserably.

The pilot phug shrugged and said, “I’ve always wondered about that Mazes and Mahar stuff. Guess now’s a good time as any to charge into the storm.”

“I’ll join too, if you make some villains based on those horrid event organizers,” offered a Lord Phug.

A mischievous smirk grew on the piechart phug’s face. “Oh,” he replied, “I’m pretty sure that can be arranged.”

Everything came crashing down during the costume contest. The phugs had decided to host the contest in a forest clearing a couple of miles from the resort. The contest started out promising, with various phugs showing off their costumes as they walked down the runway. Suddenly a cloud of fairies descended on the forest clearing. Everyone was taken aback, especially Ishia. The fairies weren’t expected to arrive for another week! The angel priggle didn’t have to wonder about the fairies premature arrival for too long, however. Suddenly a loud roar echoed through the forest. Minutes later, a huge glacier rreign flew overhead!

The glacier rreign began to descend onto the contest runway, causing phugs to flee in panic. The rreign landed on the runway and managed to snap the runway in half with his massive weight. He looked around the clearing with a cold piercing glare and began to spew icy breath that froze anything it touched. Many frightened phugs ran for cover.

“Come on, everyone! We’re supposed to be the Blazing Phugs Festival, not the Scaredy phugs festival!” shouted a Superphug.

“At this rate, It looks like this will become the Freezing Phugs Festival,” mumbled a Triceraphug.

“I’m not afraid of ice!” yelled a Hockeyphug. “Let’s take this rreign on!”

“Well, it looks like we’ve got ourselves a real-life monster encounter!” a piechart phug noted. This was the piechart phug who wished to attend the Mazes and Mahars convention.

Several hockeyphugs hopped onto the frozen ground and began passing a cream pie around like a hockey puck. The pie had been a generous donation from a cream piephug. Eventually one of the hockeyphugs managed to launch the cream pie towards the glacier rreign! The pie ended up hitting the rreign’s shoulder with a mighty splat! The rreign turned towards the hockeyphugs and prepared to freeze them, but he was interrupted by cream piephugs and ninjaphugs hurling pies at his face!

Meanwhile, several phugs were debating their next course of action. Two pop star phugs offered to further disorient the rreign by channeling their off-key singing through speakers. The piechart phugs shot down the idea, stating that the horrible singing would also confuse the hockeyphugs, ninjaphugs, and cream piephugs. The unicornphugs were asking each other if any of them knew spells that could counter the rreign’s icy breath. The zombiephugs, mummyphugs, cerberusphugs and spiderphugs offered to attempt to scare the rreign away. A few fairyphugs were communicating with the fairies to find out how they could stop the rreign.

Suddenly, the rreign gave out a painful cry. An arrow had been shot into the left side of its back! It turns out that Ishia was a very skilled archer, and she had taken up the bow and arrow in order to protect her resort guests. The priggle had positioned herself in a tall tree and had shot an arrow dipped in a sleeping potion at the rreign. It quickly became apparent that one arrow wouldn’t be enough to bring down the glacier rreign, so Ishia prepared to fire another arrow. But before Ishia could fire again, some superphugs carried some unicornphugs up to the glacier rreign face. The unicornphugs then attempted to shoot magic into the rreign’s eyes and nostrils. The phugs did succeed with some of their magical shots, and soon the rreign went into a frenzy that one could only describe as a giant sugar rush. It turns out that the spell that the unicornphugs had cast made one gain a huge burst of energy! Once this spell wore off, however, those affected felt very tired and lethargic.

The magically influenced glacier rreign roared, stomped around and spewed more frigid breath. Many phugs and fairies got caught in the path of the rreign’s breath and were frozen solid. Eventually, the combination of Ishia’s enchanted arrow and the unicornphug spell caused the rreign to become exhausted and collapse to the ground.

Ishia wasn’t very happy as she surveyed the damage in the aftermath of the glacier rreign attack. The glacier rreign had inflicted heavy damage on the fairy garden that was located near the clearing. However, some of the damage was caused by some possessed phugs who had hidden in fairy habitats to escape the rreign’s wrath.
