Do you know how hard it is to be a little girl and live across from a joint bakery and candy store? Only as hard as it is to be a young squirrel who has a fascination for sugary treats. Living in the park down from Sugar Bites, Darcy was a little white squirrel who was a bit smaller than most. She didn't exactly take pride having to dig into the trashcans to get the food she loved so dearly, or crossing that busy road, but man was it worth it. At first, the shop workers really didn't like her. She was just a pest, a nuisance. After a while though they surely warmed up to her. Maybe it was her big eyes or how she herself looked like a little toasted Marshmallow. Possibly even how she liked to balance small treats on her tail or shove as many cookie crumbs in her cheeks as possible.
The shop owner of Sugar Bites thankfully enough, also agreed that she was precious. She was allowed to come in through a tiny little "squirrel door", that was located in the back exit of the store. She even had her own little table where she was able to eat some of the slightly-stale food. Many citizens enjoyed looking in the windows to see her nomming on her food in the corner of the little store. She brought in many customers, because who doesn't like a cute squirrel eating muffins?
She ended up becoming the store mascot, and she spent the rest of her happy life eating all the wonderful sugars in the world.
