Before Pappochelys was discovered it was considered the oldest undisputed stem turtle. It is the only known species in the genus Odontochelys and the family Odontochelyidae. It's always a risky thing to make a character based after a culture that still exists today. The Jamaican culture is very rich and diverse and by having a character that represents such an incredible culture; I can learn throughout my research about it. I hope that my fantasy Jamaican themed character is not found with offense by any of that culture for I have a deep respect for the Jamaican people. I hope to spread truthful information throughout my studies about the people, their beliefs, their rich culture, their struggles they have endured, and their deep history.
